Blue Crane Vineyards - Test 2004

Sauvignon Blanc 2006

Made reductively and fermented cold. The wine is rich in tropical fruit, with green flavours on the palate. It has a long finish with pineapple flavours developing in the glass.

Chenin Blanc 2005

Made reductively and fermented cold. The Chenin Blanc was made from 16 year old vines. Fresh and fruity with hints of pear and almonds. Awarded Gold and "Best Boutique White wine" at the Swiss International Airline Wine Awards.

Shiraz 2005

The Shiraz is rich, spicy, complex and velvety. It was matured for 12 months in 20% American and 80% French oak barrels. Ready now or keep for up to 6 years.

Merlot 2005

The Merlot is full bodied, sith chocolate and fruitcake flavours with a long finish. It was matured for 12 months in French oak barrels. Ready now but will develop in the bottle. Keep for up to 5 years.  The 2004 was voted the best Merlot out of 36 of the country's top wines by Wine of the Month Club's tasting Panel.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

The Cabernet medium bodied and hhas a distinctive Blackcurrent nose, supported by cigar box and other oak notes. Tannins are soft and integrated.  The wine was matured in French oak barrels for 18 months. Ready now or keep for up to 6 years. Awarded a bronze medal the Swiss International Airline Wine Awards.
